Buzz Aldrin, a man who will stop at nothing until our asses are on Mars, discussed his master plan Thursday, August 27, for getting humans to the Red Planet within the next 25 years.

The second man to walk on the moon's surface took part in a signing ceremony for the Buzz Aldrin Space Institute, located at the Florida Institute of Technology
campus in Melbourne, Florida.

The 85 year-old will serve as a research professor of aeronautics and a senior faculty adviser at the institute, which is set to open this fall.

According to Fox News, Aldrin is hoping humans can establish a Mars settlement by 2040– or even better yet, 2039– the 70th anniversary of his historical Apollo 11 mission.

"I'm thrilled to be partnering with FIT in my new home state of Florida," Aldrin said to Fox News. "I am proud of my time at NASA with the Gemini 12 and Apollo 11 programs but I hope to be remembered more for my contributions to the future."

Aldrin has been pushing congress to fund his Aldrin Cycler or Mars Cycler — a sort of space bus system with continuous orbits between Earth and Mars.
