In what’s probably the saddest news of today, Publix has confirmed that the world’s most amazing coupon is, tragically, a hoax.

The grocery chain confirmed on its Facebook page that there has been a fraudulent Publix coupon circulating the web advertising $100 off a purchase of $120 or more.

“This is not supported by Publix and this coupon is not valid at any of our locations,” a company statement said. “We recommend not participating in the promotion or providing your personal information. Thank you for your patience as we investigate this situation.”

According to the Tampa Bay Times, the counterfeit ticket was posted by go-saves.com, which is now defunct.

Unfortunately, you can now only dream of all the chicken tender Pub Subs you could have bought with a $100.
