American Craft Beer Week
runs May 11-17 this year. The week seeks to promote craft breweries both big and small across the country. Thanks in part to a Legislature that is finally starting to see the value of a strong craft beer industry, Florida's brewing scene is finally on the rise, with the number of craft breweries jumping from 45 to over 100 in three short years. (See you soon, 64-ounce growlers!)

Here's a list of local spots that are celebrating American Craft Beer Week with various events:

Orlando Brewing, 1301 Atlanta Ave.
OB is going all out with events every night of the week. Wednesday, May 13, brings a paired beer-and-chocolate tasting, and 6 p.m. Friday, May 15, they team with the Bias Palate for a five-course beer dinner. The five beers served will include their new Rye IPA, which diners will be the first to drink before its official release on the 16th. More info here.

Redlight Redlight, 2810 Corrine Drive
The renowned craft beer parlour hosts a Sam Adams tap takeover 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 13.

Brass Tap Mills Park, 1632 N. Mills Ave.
The pub with more than a hundred craft brew choices has events planned all week, including specialty tappings from Cigar City and Green Flash Brewing. Order a Road Warrior, Mosaic IPA or a West Coast IPA, and be entered to win two tickets to Mad Max: Fury Road Friday, May 15.

The Outpost Neighborhood Kitchen, 2603 Edgewater Drive
This new College Park eatery is pairing craft beers with some of its signature items, like their Pretzel & Beer Cheese paired with Cigar City Florida Cracker, or the Beer & Bacon Flight, which pairs four different beers with, well, bacon.

World of Beer UCF, 3402 Technological Ave.
The UCF branch of World of Beer hosts the Colorado Tour for American Craft Beer Week, Friday, May 15, from 6-7pm featuring drafts from Colorado breweries like Breckenridge, Left Hand and Great Divide.

Cask & Larder, 565 W. Fairbanks Ave., and Swine & Sons Provisions, 595 W. Fairbanks Ave., Winter Park
The Southern cuisine powerhouses team up for ACBW as Cask & Larder head brewer Larry Foor pairs some of his favorite new releases with this week’s Swine & Sons “Blue Pig Specials” menu (see below). Beers will be available to go in 32-ounce crowlers for $8 each; Blue Pig Specials are $17 a plate and can be ordered by calling 407-636-7601 or emailing your order to info@swineandsons.com. Larry’s Beer Recommendations: Tuesday: Hairy Knuckle Brown Ale; Wednesday: Cask & Larder Pilsner; Thursday: Leatherback Rye Pale Ale; Friday: Old Southern Wit.
