Of all the new attractions opening on I-Drive this year, the one we're most excited about is Sea Life Orlando, the aquarium that's planned for the I-Drive 360 complex. Sea Life is owned by Merlin Entertainments (which also owns LegoLand, Madame Tussauds Wax Museums and the Orlando Eye, among other things), and it has aquariums all over the world – the Orlando attraction will be the eighth one in the United States and the 50th in the world.

Today, Sea Life announced that its first group of fish and marine animals have been introduced to the 25,000-gallon aquarium, and it includes Everglades pygmy sunfish, butterflyfish, tigerfish, Moray eels and sea snakes. Once the smaller fish are acclimated to the new environment, larger fish, including rays and sharks, will be introduced.

When the aquarium opens on May 4, visitors will be able to walk through aquariums with built-in tunnels and curved walls, to let people get as close to the fish as possible (within reason).

And this also seems like a good a time as any to share our favorite tweet of the day (so far):

@Krakenpodcast: fun sea fact of the day: baby rays look like ravioli stuffed with tiny damned souls

Yep, they sure do.
