Tonight is the State of the Union address, tomorrow we will have our interview with departing Planned Parenthood of Greater Orlando CEO and president Jenna Tosh published, right now we are in the middle of figuring out how it is that a rejuvenated GOP is attempting to clamp down on women's rights AGAIN. Today, website The Hill reports that a new bill by Republicans aimed at gaining support from idiots – er, banning abortion at 20 weeks – will not pass muster with the executive branch. In fact, it's not even passing muster with the women of the GOP.
If you ever wondered what it felt like to have a government attack your being, this is it.
So as we stand here on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade and watch the spitballs flying, let's enjoy a moment from the White House, one that reflects the very same sentiments as were uttered in 2013 when old white men tried to make women suffer. Via the Hill.
“Not only is the basis for H.R. 36 scientifically disputed, the bill disregards women's health and rights, the role doctors play in their patients' healthcare decisions, and the Constitution,” the White House wrote in a statement Tuesday. "If the president were presented with this legislation, his senior advisers would recommend that he veto this bill."
