Back when we were 10 years old, our computer entertainment interests hadn’t yet advanced beyond Intellivision, but as Otronicon ends its first decade, the event has proved an amazingly precocious pre-teen. Orlando Science Center’s annual expo of gaming technology is back for its 10th installment, and this edition’s exhibitors list includes major players like EA Sports, Lockheed Martin, Microsoft and NASA. Workshop attendees can design game levels, learn about 3-D modeling, or interact with Aldebaran’s NAO (an adorable humanoid robot designed to assist with autism therapy) while more competitive players can go controller-to-controller in Super Smash Bros. tournaments conducted by Powder Keg Games. But despite all the cutting-edge offerings, you’ll probably find us sipping a craft beer and playing Pac-Man and Frogger in the BART-branded adult lounge – we’re just old-school like that.

10 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday-Monday | Orlando Science Center, 777 E. Princeton St. | 407-514-2000 | otronicon.org | $19
