Talented local musicians pay tribute to John Lennon with Christmas party this December

Heart Strings Music wants your old iPods, and they're invoking the name of John Lennon to collect as many digital media players as possible. From 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23, head to Cheyenne Saloon to see talented local musicians - the Gerry Williams Band, Eugene Snowden, FunkUs, the Honeyslides, Max Von Shadow, Rizzo Wheeler and the Stupid Bloody Tuesdays, My Generation, Mark Wynegar, BEATLEish, JunoSmile, Walt Stahl - perform selections from Lennon's expansive songbook. Cover is $15 and your first drink is free.

The show is a Christmas party with heart, donating the iPods to Music & Memory, a non-profit that supports "those struggling with Alzheimer’s, dementia and other cognitive and physical challenges to reconnect with the world through music-triggered memories, thus vastly improving quality of life" (their mission statement). Watch the trailer of Alive Inside to learn more about the work of Music & Memory, and as Lennon would say, Happy Xmas to all the partygoers.
