Before you read on about the official announcement of Universal's final Halloween Horror Nights house, we just wanted to set the mood a little bit, so go ahead and hit play on the video up there.
Let that music sink in. Yep, the final house at Universal's Halloween Horror Nights will be based on the John Carpenter classic Halloween. The movie is credited with starting the whole slasher-film genre and, even today, remains pretty damn scary.
What the Michael Myers series gets right and many movies today get wrong is the building of pure suspense. Many of today's horror flicks go straight for the gore, but, you know, if you see enough blood-n-guts, you kinda get desensitized to it. Similarly, the suspense is the best part of the Halloween Horror Nights mazes. You're creeping down a hallway, listening to the screams in front of you, with no idea what's happening next.
Well, with the latest addition to the HHN lineup, guests will have some sort of idea what's happening next, especially if they have watched (and re-watched) the original movie. According to Michael Aiello, Universal's Director of Entertainment - Creative Development, "Guests will come face to face with Michael Myers as we recreate the kills committed on the night He came home."
