Welcome to 19 Questions, a feature where we ask longtime Orlando residents 19 questions that are mostly related to living in the City Beautiful. Today's subject: Dave Scott Schwartzman.

Dave has resided in Orlando since 1993 and is known around town for his musical ventures (he's a founding member of hardcore punk legends Adrenalin O.D. and has also played in such local favorites as the Rondos, the Hybrids, the F-Pipes, and the Explosives). Dave's day job, he tells me, involves "customer merchandise" and "band management." That sounds vaguely mobbish to me, so lets get to the interview already.

1. Who's your favorite Orlando resident, living, dead, real, or fictional?

[Former Harlem Globetrotter] Curly Neal.

2. What's the best meal you've ever eaten in Orlando?

Probably a dish called Iskender Kebap at Bosphorous, which is this Turkish restaurant in Winter Park. it's shaved lamb meat that's been cooked on spit ... like a gyro, but real, not made of meatloaf. It's done

over buttered bread with tomato sauce and some yogurt. Decadent but delicious.

3. What was your first job in Orlando?

I've always worked for myself, except for when I worked at Static, the punk rock store that used to be on Mills. They closed just a few months ago. They moved to University Boulevard and nobody knew they were there.

4. When's the last time you went to a theme park?

When I first moved here in 1993. [laughs] Yeah, I thought it would be cool to live near Disney, but that wore off quick. Last time I went they were shooting off fireworks at the end of the night and they landed on the [monorail] tracks, which set the tracks on fire. That shut everything down, and I had to walk this super long way to get to my car. I got all these blisters on my feet, it sucked.

5. Favorite beach?

I hate the beach. [pauses] You can put that.

6. What's your favorite Orlando attraction that no longer exists?

I would say it was the Elvis Presley museum. Circus World was cool, but the Elvis Presley museum that was near I-Drive and Sand Lake Road was better. They had the Lisa Marie plane and all his costumes. It was cool. Now all that stuff's at Graceland.

7. What do you hate most about living in Orlando?

The sun and the heat.

8. What do you hate least about living in Orlando?

Probably the fact there's a Publix and a Starbucks within walking distance from anywhere.

9. When's the last time you went to a flea market?

I go a lot, actually, so I'd say the last time I went was two weeks ago. I prefer the Daytona one myself.

10. In one word, describe your day job.

Entrepreneur.

11. What's your favorite barbecue spot in Orlando?

I have different favorites for different things. Can I say that? For brisket, I like 4 Rivers. For everything else, Cecil's.

12. Drink of choice?

Yellowtail merlot. It's cheap, and if you drink the entire bottle, you'll forget how lousy your day was.

13. What do you think of Wayne Brady?

He's a stone cold gangstaa killer thug. That's "gangsta" with an "a" on the end. Did you ever see that Chappelle's Show he was on?

14. NASA: pro or con?

Pro, because without NASA wouldn't have cheese. I just believe in space exploration. One day the Earth is gonna get smashed by a huge asteroid and it'd be cool to know at least a little beforehand.

15. 'N Sync or Backstreet?

Death.

16. How much is too much to spend on plastic flamingos?

Anything up to and over a dollar. I used to be a fan in the John Waters days ... but since then, it's too much.

17. When's the last time you were on OBT?

Working? Let's see ... about three weeks ago, going with my wife to the Florida Mall.

A stunning ode to Orange Blossom Trail through photos

18. Captain EO: pro or con?

Con. I'm not familiar enough with it to have a real opinion, so I'll go negative.

19. What makes someone an Orlandoan?

A what? An Orlando-an? Oh. I'd say if you are originally from somewhere else. No one in Orlando is from here. Or it's rare that you meet someone who's from here, who was born and raised.
