"Scandal Plagued": DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz greets Chris Christie's country club visit with Gov. Rick Scott (Video)

HAPPY CRAZY POLITICAL BULLSEYE MORNING, ORLANDO! As you're probably aware, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie rode the jet stream down to Florida for the weekend in order to pretend everything is just fine, so please give blood money to the Republican Governors Association, OK? The absurdity of this particular political charade has been lost on no one, including Florida Gov. Rick Scott, who is reportedly refusing to be photographed with the troubled RGA chairman as they eat caviar together at the Country Club of Orlando at the EXACT same time as the MLK parade downtown. OPTICS!

Not to be outdone, the Democratic National Committee and its curlicue leader Debbie Wasserman Schultz are planning to tailgate Christie's whistle-stop tour of the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. That's exactly why we found ourselves in a park near to the country club this morning at 9 a.m., where Wasserman Schultz – flanked by House Democratic leader Mark Pafford, D-West Palm Beach, and Orange County mayoral hopeful Val Demings – took the gloves off and threw the words "scandal-plagued" around a lot. There will be t-shirts before all of this is over.

Anyway, below is a video of the press conference, and you really should watch it, because it was a pain in the ass to upload. Things you might not see in the clip: Sexy reporters from the New York Times, NBC and New Jersey flew in for the affair; in the questions period after the speech, DWS got a good laugh when one reporter asked her to imagine if she were a Republican governor (what kind of dead tree would you be?); and Pafford telling us that we "dressed impeccably." Things you will see: Val Demings comparing textgate to bridgegate (at last!), DWS referencing the mounting subpoenas flooding into Christie's bully pulpit, the breaking news that Christie's Lieutenant Governor tried to play extortion with superstorm Sandy funds for Hoboken, a sign that said "Traffic on I-4 is bad enough already."

Outside the country club, security looked pretty tight, meaning there were cops everywhere. DWS suggested that Scott and Christie would likely duck their heads and run through opposite sides of the room to avoid any Kodak Picture Moments. Oh, to be a fly on that shit.

Here's the presser. Please to enjoy. If the link below doesn't work, try clicking here.
