-Julian Assange wrote Benedict Cumberbatch a strange, almost backhanded love letter re The Fifth Estate this week. (Variety)

-The New York Magazine cover story on Spike Jonze and the making of Her. (NY Mag)

-Speaking of Her, the film is dedicated to James Gandolfini, Maurice Sendak, Adam Yauch and Harris Savides. (@TheFilmStage)

-Charlie Hunnam dropped out of Fifty Shades of Grey. Now they'll have to cast Ron Perlman for me to care about the movie again. (The Wrap)

-Looks like Wes Anderson's Fantastic Mr. Fox is coming to Criterion soon. Finally, but what about the Zissou? (CriterionCast)

-This isn't quite as bad as the characters continued use in Met Life commercials, but a French company is planning to make a bunch of Peanuts short films based on Charles Schultz's original strips. The strip died when he did, and no one should be allowed to mess around with it just because he's gone, even if he did sign some papers. (Cartoon Brew)

-The world's oldest movie theater is reopening after a 23 year closure. (Al Jazeera America)

-In between bouts of public quibbling, the director of Blue is the Warmest Color let us know that the director's cut is actually 40 minutes longer than the theatrical cut. I'm trying not to let all of this outside stuff interfere with wanting to see the film, but I'm kind of tired of hearing about it already. (Playlist)

-How the Tim Burton Batman logo succeeded in reigniting the public interest in Batman, even if the movie wasn't all that great. (The Dissolve)

-The character poster set for Lars von Trier's Nymphomaniac is chock full of weirdness. (/Film)

-Patton Oswalt's Whedonverse crushes. (Vulture)

-I haven't read much positive in the way of Diana reviews, but the poster is Goddamn spectacular. (EW)

-Go ninja, go ninja, go! (AV Club)
