Just a heads up to all of you fledgling filmmakers out there that there is one month left for the early submission deadline for the 2014 Florida Film Festival's short film competition. Early submissions must be submitted by October 18th to be considered, so get those projects edited and polished and maybe you could be off to the Oscars.
Here is one tip from a short film enthusiast: make sure you get your sound edit right (especially you Full Sail kids. There is no reason for you guys to mess the sound up). There is nothing worse than seeing a short that looks intriguing only to see that they filmmakers put zero effort into their sound edit. It's very important.
If you miss the early deadline, you can still submit up until November 15th, but the entry fee will cost you more. Here are the full details from the FFF's site (with information about how to submit).
Early Deadline – October 18, 2013
Late Deadline – November 15, 2013
