This morning, Unified Records Booking took its final bow, as the pop punk show promoter decided to take his talents to Cleveland. (Doesn't he know it's supposed to work the other way around?!) He did the admirable service of directing his followers to unfriend or unlike his account and instead start following Orlando Pop Punk Shows for future punk show announcements, and this got me to thinking that some of you out there might not know how easy to is to track local shows using Facebook. Here are some folks and pages I'd recommend you follow, like, subscribe to . . . however Facebook is phrasing things lately.
Residents Showcase for local bands spanning rock, electronic, experimental, pop, indie, chill as hell
Floridas Dying for underground punk, garage, surf, new record releases, local shows, record releases, legittt
Norse Korea/NK Presents for up-and-coming national acts in indie, metal, punk, rock, partyyyyy
Non-Prophet Organization for metal, sludge, punk, and beautiful cacophony you didn't even know you needed in your life
Second Subject Recordings for local and national hip-hop, rap, pop, DJs , beat-boxing, community and family-style, invested good times
Civic Minded 5 for jazz, classical, experimental, blues, mind-blowing musicality

Then, of course, if you're looking for a way to track your favorite venues, you can follow the list Orlando Music Venues (which includes House of Blues, Hard Rock Live, Amway, UCF, alongside the clubs like the Social, Backbooth, Will's, etc.). I also have a list of Orlando Bands (currently at 151 and growing) that is good for show announcements and new releases from the local bands you love and others I think are worth discovering.
This is just a small sample of what's out there. If you are a show promoter and I left you off this list, please introduce yourself in the comments, and I'll update this post to make sure your events don't go unnoticed.
