Earlier this summer, we documented the dying sport of jai alai in Orlando, but it seems we weren't the only ones intrigued by what was going on at Orlando Jai Alai. New York director Drew Blatman managed to capture the slow death on film in his short A Night at Jai Alai. If you are following this story or even if you're curious to see jai alai played for the first time, it's worth checking out. Debuted on April 15 of this year, it's an eye-opener for anyone who remembers choosing players for a quinella in a slightly more packed stadium of past years of how dismally attendance dwindled. At 8 minutes, 45 seconds, it doesn't evoke the thrill of the danger of the high-speed sport, but rather the sluggish dismissal of it.
