Who would have thought that when we go to the circus, we might hear, not clown music, but classical in its place? Or that, when we arrive at an orchestra concert in our formal wear, acrobats and strongmen would be moving on stage with the music? Well, the two unlikely worlds come together in Orlando Philharmonic’s Cirque de la Symphonie. This performance, in which the artists chose the music and choreographed their own dance moves, brings familiar classics, such as Bizet’s Carmen and Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, to life for the audience. Consider it a not-to-miss show. We mean, who wants to miss a chance at watching the world’s strongest man possibly tip-toeing around in a tutu? Not us. – Drexler B. James
