Saturday, April 28 – Roll It! Community Printmaking Festival 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Mennello Museum of American Art 900 E. Princeton St. mennellomuseum.com 407-246-4278 free
Sometimes we find ourselves locked into the monotony of life, doing the same things over and over again. Time magazine says, “people who engage in a variety of experiences are more likely to retain positive emotions and minimize negative ones than people who have fewer experiences.” Basically, if you taste-test a bunch of new events, you’re more likely to forget about all of the embarrassing and unspeakable things you did last weekend. The Mennello Museum is here to help open new doors with its series of printmaking workshops including today’s “Roll It! Community Printmaking Festival”– an experimental art experience open to all ages and levels of experience. There will be printmaking stations set up by the UCF Print Collective where you can create your own prints that can then be contributed to a huge, collaborative print later on in the afternoon. And if this experience doesn’t help you forget about those embarrassing moments, the festival is over at 3 p.m. – just in time for happy hour. – Leanna Robinson
