By now I'm sure you've all heard the terrible news about the death of Restrepo co-director Tim Hetherington, as well as American photojournalist Chris Hondros.
They were in Misrata, Libya covering the war when fighting broke out in the streets.
Last year he made an experimental short film, Diary, which he called a "kaleidoscope of images that link our western reality to the seemingly distant worlds we see in the media."
That's about as true of a description that you could give this 20 minute film that features footage of warfare in Africa, Afghanistan (and Sri Lanka, I believe?), as well as a piece of the Coney Island Mermaid Parade, Times Square and a wonderfully serene English meadow at dusk.
Heads up: it is fairly graphic in places, as is the nature of his work.
